Despite announcing plans for a “well deserved break and a transitional period” late last year, Thee Oh Sees are returning with their fifth full-length in four years with Drop, due out April 19th via frontman John Dywer’s Castle Face Records. Recorded last fall at a “banana ripening warehouse”, Drop features appearances from Mikal Cronin, Greer McGettrick (from the Mallard), Casafis, and drummer Chris Woodhouse.

Creative Adult play a dark and unsettling style of music that draws inspiration from several subgenres independent music including punk, grunge, indie rock, and garage rock. After two mind blowing 7", Creative Adult have finally released their debut twelve song LP entitled Psychic Mess. Musically, Creative Adult can be said to be influenced by bands that include Nirvana, Drive Like Jehu, The Wipers, The Men, and even early Who. On Psychic Mess, Creative Adult offer up twelve songs of dark, primitive, and at times even psychedelic sounding punk, grunge, indie rock, and garage rock. Overall, this album is phenomenal and definitely worthy of all the buzz surrounding this band.

@3hcpc47s:On April 29, William Tyler will release Lost Colony, the follow-up EP to his critically acclaimed 2013 release Impossible Truth. The limited-edition 12-inch features the new song “Whole New Dude,” a full-band reworking of “We Can’t Go Home Again” from Impossible Truth, and “Karussell,” a cover of a Michael Rother (Neu!) song.
After over a year of solo touring in support of Impossible Truth, Tyler was excited to write and arrange more for an ensemble: “Including these guys as part of the band has totally transformed the way I look at playing this music because it feels more like family on these songs. I am not hammering away in a private/existential manner all by myself. We tracked it as a band, there were other people to bounce ideas off.”
The 12-inch was recorded and mixed by Joe Pisapia at Middletree Studios in Nashville in late 2013. The full band for this recording is William Tyler on guitar and keyboard; Reece Lazarus (bass guitar); Jamin Orrall (drums, percussion); and Luke Schneider (pedal steel guitar).
