Developing on the trance-induction and brainwave entrainment techniques explored on the first Ethernet album 144 Pulsations of Light, Opus 2 moves into deeper, more introspective and emotive territory. A stronger focus on melody and harmonic structure results in pieces that almost approach, but never quite arrive at, traditional song forms, while still leaving much to the imagination of the listener, evading mental categorization and revealing new sonic experiences with each listen.

da penita pero se veía venir… los 2 últimos discos, especialmente l último flojo flojo. Ahora que le den cera a sus proyectos paralelos y en solitario, seguro que dentro de 5 años van a volver y serán el comeback de un recuperado not fun fest o en un Unsound, Transmediale...

Es jodido porque cuando quisieron trascender un poco la escena noise/improv de Ohio empezaron a perder un montón de atractivo al tiempo que ganaban popularidad. Los dos últimos muy flojos, pero los de McGuire y Hauschildt también.
Todavía me acuerdo la desilusión que nos llevamos cuando los vimos en cajamadrid jaja..
En cualquier caso para mí a nivel personal han sido un grupo muy importante, y gracias a ellos he descubierto un montón de cosas -
Pues a mi el Does It Look Like I'm Here? me parece que está a un nivel altísimo. Como el What Happened. Lo último no sabría como explicarlo pero no me desagrada del todo.

Epic Two and Half hour set from Kevin Drumm for Hospital Productions – ideal winter listening Epic and desolate ambient drone from Kevin Drumm on his first release for Hospital Productions since the brobdingnagian ‘Imperial Horizon’. Originally issued in a micro run of 49 copies, it runs over 2 and half hours of “malign electronic ambient music” including one hour long piece ‘Night Side’ among some incredible shorter parts. At it most succinct we’re fking terrified by nine minutes of incoming twin engine drone on ‘Dimming The Gas Lights’, and at its longest ‘Night Side’ seduces to an isolated, tantric agenda with crushing black metal chord changes. Between them are the Hitchcockian suspense of ‘Winter Ice’; the pealing folk-drone of ‘Taurean’; submerged, sonorous subbass and shivering harmonics on ‘Return’. We cannot wait to spend some proper time with this…**

Este tío está en estado de gracia. Tras sacar el año pasado un discazo como "From The Mouth of The Sun" junto con Aaron Martin, ahora vuelve con su alter ego Jasper TX y trae otro disco bestial. Drone, ambient y paisajismo musical de altos vuelos.
