son piezas bastante parecidas e hipnóticas, basadas en el crepitar de la madera con el fuego, bueno es la banda sonora de un minifilm sobre ello, obviamente siendo Aaron Martin utiliza el cello para crear casi todo el sonido pero también utiliza sinte, armónica y frikadas varias….. buen disco en su género.

Éste lo he estado escuchando detenidamente antes de colgarlo porque del sr. Stapleton cualquiera se fia y sí, al principio hay una pseudo versión freal de the loco-motion de Carole King pero luego se mantiene fantásticamente entre drone, avant-garde, las oscuridades propias de su mente enfermiza y unas briznas de neofolk…

Eric Quach is a guitarist and sound engineer who performs under the name thisquietarmy. He is also the guitarist and founding member of the Montreal-based instrumental rock band Destroyalldreamers (Where Are My Records, Claire’s Echo).

As thisquietarmy, a one-man solo drone/ambient project, Quach composes visual guitar-based soundscapes and experimental music that goes beyond the typical song structure. By exploring his guitar as a tone generator, he furthers the boundaries of his instrument with the use of multiple effect processors & real-time loop-samplers, alternating the guitar signal’s shape and tone, blending textures over textures, merging a wide combination of sounds together and developing the melodies hidden in these walls of sound. Concrete musical ideas are often generated by the re-interpretation, the decomposition and the reconstruction of its own improvisations.

He was a loving husband and father and it is his daughter, Cristina Bellido, whose voice can be heard on this epic track, delivering a liturgy to her dad in her native Catalan tongue. Vamos, con musiquita de fondo que no moleste y no distraiga del estudio. Para eso, en el Natura venden unos cedés muy guapos de apaches, payoponis, camboyanos… Con sus flauticas y sus soniditos de arroyo.

Para estudiar te aconsejo más neoclásica y ambient que drone.
Así a bote pronto te recomiendo Danny Norbury, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Nils Frahm, algunos discos de Peter Broderick, Helios, Ólafur Arnalds, Rafael Antón Irisarri, Marsen Jules, Greg Haines o Fabio Orsi.
Si te pasas por el blog puedes coger bastante material para escuchar. Si quieres algún enlace para algún disco concreto, pídelo y veré que puedo hacer.

Yo si tengo que recomendar un disco sería el de Belong - October Language. Los muy cabrones se hacen de rogar para sacar otro.

a mi me motiva bastante para leer GAS. el trabajo ambient de Mike Ink, la neoclásica cuando tiene cierta calidad me despista y en lo más dronero me acabo perdiendo en los detalles…....

Supongo que cada vez que te pones un disco lo haces sentado en el sofá, con una copa de vino y el ceño fruncido mientras observas el tocadisco dando vueltas.

Estás dando por hecho que al no prestar el 100% de atención a lo que suena significa que uno tenga que bajar el nivel de exigencia, invalide su criterio o que se haga imposible el diferenciar la calidad de un buen disco de ambient respecto a uno de Enya, por decir algo.

Si a alguien le funciona practicar yoga con Fleet Foxes de fondo o LCD Soundsystem mientras se dedica a hacer footing con el perro no bastardiza la experiencia.

Buuuu, ríete un poco Harry, que el festival ya está aquí.
Y, en cualquier caso, no me seas falaz que entre la atención del vaso de vino, sofá, etc. y la que se le presta a una música de matices como es el rollo éste (si no me equivoco) cuando se estudia, hay una amplísima gama de grises.
