Vamos a estrenar este hilo tan bonito con un disco que, a pesar de que no es drone, encajaría perfectamente. Glitch pop, ambient de bella factura. Ya que alguien se ha dignado a crearlo para que los "bichos raros" lo usemos (gracias Kio), habrá que hacerlo bien.

Glitch-pop maestro Shuta Hasunuma works some serious magic into these tracks. Seldom do you encounter such impeccable, well judged songsmithery that's been so wantonly decimated by its author. Wonderfully delicate acoustic balladry gets sliced up and perforated with digital ruptures and pinhole sized beats, still somehow preserving a firm grasp on melodic integrity–and even finding space for some vocals within the fractured mix. 'Triooo' makes for an especially good case study of Shuta's skillful production, carving up jazzily arranged strings, tuned percussion, and piano over a frantic five-minute chamber pop song. Comparisons to artists on labels like Flau, Spekk, Noble, and the like would be an obvious port of call, but you could equally mention Shuta's work in the same breath as people like Max Tundra, or maybe even Sam Prekop. Highly recommended.

Double Leopards releases were all form quaking in the extreme, Halve Maen is their first genuine masterpiece, seven celestial tracks that pulse with the rotation frequencies of planets. Working with almost static forms in a similar way to Japanese Fluxus operatives Taj Mahal Travellers, Double Leopards drop in elliptical melodies and rainbow electronics that flare just beyond the horizon, briefly illuminated by auroral bursts that strafe the sky. Like Coil or Mirror, there is so much detail to the group’s conceptions that they feel inhabited, so much eerie, subliminal action that their instrumentals seem to be undeniably about something, a hunch given further credence by darkly evocative titles like “The Forest Outlaws” and “The Secret Correspondence”. But it’s the second sidelong piece, “A Hemisphere In Your Hair” that really blows the lid off Halve Maen. Despite its live, improvised genesis it feels exactingly constructed, as the shuffle of shakers slowly unfurl into arcs of sonorous drone and sighing plateaus of minimal synth that seem to evoke every melody you’ve ever forgotten. Throughout its entire playing time the piece remains suspended in a weird void, with the players utilising superhuman restraint in order to never fully state anything, instead skirting the edges of form, drawing liquid silhouettes that morph and contract in waves and forcing the listener deeper into their own banks of sound and memory.

solo aparece una vez la palabra "drone", en esta frase:
