Terror Danjah "Undeniable" (HyperDub, 2010)

Hyperdub seal Terror Danjah's position at the top of UK Grime with his stone cold solid 'Undeniable' album, featuring guest spots from Mz Bratt, Griminal, D Double E, Bruza, and Lauren Mason. Unlike his 'Gremlinz' LP, or previous 'Hardrive' volumes this feels much more like an artist album proper, rather than a "best of" or a collection of recent riddims. Basically all the fat has been trimmed to reveal 14 heavyweights portraying Terror in his most futuristic form, dispensing with UK Funky - Danjah styles - on 'Breaking Bad', and performing Wiley-style Devil fixes on classic material with 'Sonar (Selassi Mix)', or simply stepping in front of everyone with the uniquely crafty 'Undeniable' feat. Newham Gen's D Double E. It's the closing run of tracks from 'Undeniable' to the climax of 'Story Ending' that prove he's got chops far beyond the average UK urban producer, blending instinctive pop sensibilities with innate underground swagger on the tranced out hardcore pop of 'All I Wanna' with Lauren Mason, and flexing a twinkly future soul side with 'Time To Let Go' possibly belying an awareness of James Blake and the more electronic sound of Mount Kimbie (or maybe it's the other way around?). Either way, this disc shows Mr Danjah to be one of the UK underground's most prized and inspirational assets, which is a fact you really can't ignore. Recommended!

ya ves tío, hay que evolucionar y abrirse a la modernidad. fue comprarme hace un año el recopilata del documental dub echoes y fliparlo en colores con roots manuva, disrupt, kode9 y tantos otros. me encantan los sonidos marcianos y de tragaperras mezclados con bajos gordos.

Bueno, pues gran festival que hemos disfrutado en Berlin, a grandes rasgos:

Booka Shade: lo que ya sabia, directazo y espectaculo brutal
Tiefschwarz Live: Regular, no conocia como seria su directo ni tenia noticias de que lo hicieran así, fue con banda, los dos hermanos más un tio que tocaba el sinte y otro que cantaba, les faltaba rodaje, pero cuando lo cojan puede estar muy chulo.
Sven Vath: Está acabadísimo, que lo deje.
Sebo K: Seguramente la mejor sesion de Dj de la noche, musicón, minimal y Tech House de muchos kilates a un volumen atronador.
Innervisions (Ame, Dixon, Schwarz): lo esperado, sesiones elegantes e ideales para darse unos bailes, la elegencia personificada a los platos se llama Dixon.
Paul Kalkbrenner: es un misterio para mi el porque de su explosion este año, imagino que será por Sky and Sand, pero tiene un tiron ahora mismo espectacular, Apolo y Razz aforo completo en sus ultimas visitas, muy bueno su directo, buenísimo, seguramente lo mejor de la noche.
Richie Hawtin: Sesion con altos y bajos, mezclas perfectas y un estilo superdepurado clasicos de Richie, aunque la seleccion musical un tanto regulera, con momentos brillantes y momentos demasiado planos para ser las 7 de la mañana, pero bien al fin y al cabo es Richie.
Y con esto pàra el Hotel pasadas las 8, muy positivo el balance, bien montado el festival en Tempelhoff y un sonido inmejorable, la unica pega el espectacular frio del Domingo por la mañana.

PD: Que tal ayer Tod Terje? no tuve fuerzas.

A mi tampoco me mola demasiado, pero no soy objetivo, siempre le tuve bastante mania a toda la moda de Border Community de hace unos años, siempre me pareció eso, una moda que al final se acabaria y con el tiempo la verdad es que así ha sido, ahora no son ni un 10% de lo que eran antes.
