"There's no artificial distortion, triggers, or Auto-Tune on this album," Ballou explains, "it's all organic, it’s real sounds that capture the way the band performs live."

bueno, tampoco os flipeis que lo que rula hasta el momento es un puto vinyl rip. yo casi que me espero a que salga una filtracion en condiciones.
mientras tanto los cabrones de temporary residence estan on fire. aparte de estos dos que os cuelgo (el de ultraista aun no lo he catado pero el de maserati es un pepinazo) tambien acaban de editar la discografia de una banda the louisville de principios de los noventa llamada the telephone man, de la cual no habia oido hablar en mi vida y suenan de putisima madre, y que describen como el eslabon perdido entre slint y el primigenio sonido dc, y en breve tambien sacan el nuevo de pinback. viva!

Its members are vocalist/artist Laura Bettinson, and multi-instrumentalist producers Nigel Godrich and Joey Waronker (whose collective resumes read like a guide to groundbreaking and culturally influential modern music). Their eponymous debut album is 10 tracks of highly infectious, exquisitely crafted electronic kraut-pop. Favoring mantras over traditional choruses and distilling their compositions to the barest essentials, they possess the kind of masterful control over the pure anatomy of a pop song that only comes from having played a significant role in redefining the pop song in the 21st century. We've already said more than they probably wish we had. This album is superb.

por desgracia todavia no he pillado ninguno de los dos. ayer ya estuve picando piedra detras del de weird weeds al leer esa critica en p4k pero no hubo manera. es bueno a la par que curioso saber que hay relacion entre ambos grupos.

While the first two albums were elaborate concoctions, Local Business is of the earth. Titus Andronicus the studious recording project and Titus Andronicus the raucous touring machine are no longer two distinct beings; there is only Titus Andronicus, rock and roll band. This is to say, it was recorded primarily live with precious few overdubs, with an elite squad of musicians.
While abandoning the linear narrative of their last album The Monitor, the songs on Local Business aim to make explicit the implications of the first two LPs, that the inherent meaninglessness of life in an absurd universe gives the individual power to create their own values and their own morality. Along the way, we witness a devastating automobile wreck, a food fight (that is to say, a battle with an eating disorder), an electrocution, a descent into insanity, and ultimately, a forgiveness of the self for its many faults. Hammock go massive as they meditate on grand themes of death and loss, their music ever larger, more expansive. Every song a mountaintop vista with a clear view to the horizon, unencumbered by clouds, in all directions. Departure Songs demands that it be played loudly so that the details in each track can breathe, whether it is the androgynous, falsetto vocals of Marc Byrd or the angelic voice of Christine Glass Byrd or just a little bit of guitar in the background, this record is nuanced in a most compelling fashion. The arrangements beg to be picked apart - soaring guitars, propulsive bass, and hypnotic strings. The vocals work wonderfully as an instrument, but when the words finally become understandable, they cause shivers.
