Seattle hip-hop duo THEESatisfaction are paying homage to the one and only “Queen of Neo-Soul” with a free mixtape aptly-titled, THEESatisfaction Loves Erykah Badu. The beat-heavy, spacey, and soulful collection features seven tracks that are built around a series of samples and loops of Badu’s work.
This isn’t the first time the pair’s issued a tributary mix. Last year, a few months after releasing their excellent debut LP, awE naturalE, they honored another timeless R&B musician with the five-song mixtape THEESatisfaction Loves Anita Baker.

Creating a niche outside the shadow of his older brother Madlib, Oh No has been just as innovative in the hip-hop realm. He built a reputation from the ground up through a early collaborations - Lootpack, Murs, De La Soul, even composer Galt MacDermot on the album Exodus into Unheard Rhythms. Then, a series of stellar instrumental album – Dr. No's Oxperiment, Dr. No's Ethiopium. The more recent fusion with Alchemist as the group Gangrene and his reworking of Strong Arm Steady's recent album as Stereo Jr further fuels his acclaim as one of today's most exciting beat makers.
Oh No has now started the year with Disrupted Ads (Audio Dispensary System), a conceptual release of beats based around television commercials, which showcases the skills of his inner circle of collaborators - Blu, MED, Chali2na, Roc C, Alchemist, Declaime, Georgia Anne Muldrow to name a few.

Oh No follows up Dr. No's Oxperiment by diving again into Egon’s record collection for a region-based instrumental beat album. This time he's offered up and album inspired-by and sampled-from rare 60s and 70s Ethiopian funk, jazz, folk, soul and psychedelic rock.

Resumiendo un poco mi 2012 y ya que tengo tiempo por fin, muy a tope con la mixtape de Azibi Gibson con Jeremiah Jae, de las que mas me han molado del año que paso. Decepción total con el nuevo de Busdriver del cual era muy fan y veo que se ha transformado en algo que a mi por lo menos me deja indiferente (esas bases, puag). Veo que en todas las listas esta el de Killer Mike, otro, lo he escuchado suficientes veces como para darme cuenta de que sudo de su rollo, y volvemos otra vez a las bases, cuando se acerca a todo lo que suene a UK me empiezan a rechinar los dientes (lo mismo me pasa con Angel Haze, la gamberrada londinense como que no, aunque New York es saca chispas, temazo).
Archie Bronson mola mas cuando cocina y habla que cuando le da al flow, demasiado blanco y demasiado beastie por momentos, divertido en todo caso.
El de EL P, el de Aesop Rock y el de Spaceghostpurrp..respect !
Un resumen muy cutre el que acabo de hacer pero bueno que sirva al menos para volver a meter la zarpa por estos lares.

El de Deniro Farrar muy chulo, todo lo que sale en o alrededor de Green Ova suele ser sinonimo de calidad, originalidad y buen gusto, ahora mismo en el TOP del "Hiptser Hop".
