Wow! genial joder. Llevo desde que empezó la semana buscando como un loco a todas horas a ver si terminaba de filtrarse, y por fin. Muchas gracias manel. Menudas ganas tengo de meterlo en el ipod y escucharlo en condiciones.
Por cierto, si alguien no me corrije, creo que aun se desconoce la identidad de este individuo, sólo se conocen sus numerosos akas (esc 不在, Fuji Grid TV, Laserdisc Visions, Macintosh Plus, New Dreams Ltd. Initiation Tape, Sacred Tapestry, VEKTROID, 情報デスクVIRTUAL), que trabaja en Portland, sus bandcamps y cuentas de youtube, tumblr y twitter (https://twitter.com/waterfallvoyeur) y que es un genio absoluto. Recomiendo que escuchéis todos sus proyectos, todos merecen la pena, en cada uno retuerce su particular sonido de una manera y le da un aire diferente.
Esto del vaporwave es una locura. Yo llevo unas semanas totalmente obsesionado con el sonido, la estética, filosofía y el misterio que rodea a los productores que están impulsando la tendencia. Lo último que he descubierto es a Chaz Allen, creador de Metallic Ghosts y uno de los precursores en la sombra, si obviamos a los ferraros y lopatines. Este año ha sacado un lp titulado The Pleasure Centre, una auténtica enajenación.

Chaz Allen también ha sido uno de los que se ha pringado en la invención de las SPF420. Una especie de eventos rollo showcase o los bolos de la boiler room. Se accede a través de este chat: http://es.tinychat.com/spf420. Un chiringuito virtual para que los fanáticos y frikis del género se retocen como cerdos en barro en todo el universo vaporwave, en su espacio natural: la internet, mientras sus ídolos ponen música. Este lo hacen el 1 de mayo. Con el sello Fortune 500 como protagonista, hogar de artistas emergentes como Saint Pepsi, Luxury Elite o 회사AUTO. Por si alguien no tiene nada mejor que hacer ese día, jaja!
Por cierto, que este sello ha publicado este año una de las mixtapes más interesantes del género, con productos de cosecha propia mezclados con incursiones de artistas de otras lindes como 18 Carat Affair o 情報デスクVIRTUAL. Muy bonito, e ideal para iniciarse en el género.

Para terminar, a quien esté interesado en profundizar en todo este movimiento, parada obligatoria es el álbum de Chuck Person, creado por Daniel Lopatin usando técnicas de sampleado y chopped and screwed. Para muchos la primera referencia real de todo el movimiento, un sonido que Dan acuñó como eccojams aunque luego desembocase todo en eso de "vaporwave", tras la irrupción de Condo Pets / Far Side Virtual de ferraritis.

Ese canal es una maravilla, con el avatar de Michelangelo ahí, jaja. Simon Reynolds lo menciona en su libro retromanía, así como el proyecto Chuck Person del propio Lopatin. Y sí manel, ya no es que le dé contexto, es que sin Lopatin a saber si hubiera surgido todo esto de la filosofía vaporwave. Titanaco Lopatin.

Me ha dejado buen regusto el recopilatorio de "The Music Of The Now Age", gracias.
Sin embargo lo del "Home(TM)" de Macintosh Plus (PrismCorp Virtual Enterprises) no me ha entrado para nada.Reconozco que, aparte de Lopatin y Ferraro, no he ido mucho más allá. Y sé que para toda esta historia hay que entender las motivaciones "artísticas" de los personajes, pero el mecionado "Home(TM)" me parece ya demasiado.
Os dejo una lectura muy interesante (aunque del año pasado). Entre otras cosas habla de cómo surge de unos inicios hipnagógicos y lo-fi para llegar a lo ultra-HD, del vaporware (con R), de la cultura de los vendehumos, del marketing sin producto real, del anticapitalismo, del aceleracionismo… Y también de algunas evoluciones (o lado oscuro del vaporwave) como el BEBETUNE$ de Ferraro y otros proyectos, a los que califican como Distroid

Esta mañana he estado escuchando el álbum a pachas entre Saint Pepsi y Luxury Elite (Late Night Delight), y bueno. Copy'n'pasteo, loopeo, reverbereo y ralentización de samples funkeros y synth-poperos onda ochentas (algunos bastante reconocibles). Muy amable, llevadero y todo eso, pero de momento no compro. Mucho piloto automático y poca chicha. Por oye, por aquí puede encontrar sus interesados así que lo dejo por si alguien quiere probarlo.

The time seems to have come for me to confess about a few things. I am a little ashamed to admit it, I think a lot of people know by now but I have in fact been homeless since shortly after the release of Color Ocean Road; this is unfortunately the reason why there hasn't been a new Vektroid release in so long.In May 2012, I found myself in, erm, a 'heated conflict' with my father and I made the decision at that moment to flee home for my own safety. Two weeks later, I abruptly left therapy, climbed in the car with mom (thank you mom) and drove 8 hours with literally nothing but my PC, a couple duffels of wrecked boy clothes, and my three MIDI controllers.
What went down at home prompted me to immediately quit production on Color Ocean Road. Indeed the final version that was released publicly is in fact incomplete itself; I was forced to drop it and release the most up-to-date draft I had so I could pack my gear up and escape as fast as possible. I released Color Ocean Road precisely two weeks before leaving Washington State.
From that moment, I touched down in PDX and began slowly migrating around the city, given little choice but to crash with whoever would take me in. I find it really embarrassing to be caught in the position where I'm forced to put that burden on friends, but I'll put it this way: it's teaching me to work harder to no longer attach to myself words like 'helpless', 'pathetic', or 'worthless'. It's a pretty grueling test of willpower to survive and go on when you've been hidden from–forced to disengage from--the real world so thoroughly; when you're pushed to think too critically of yourself to survive, taught and reinforced that mistakes are too unforgivable to make; it diminishes your capacity to function like a human being. I am beginning to realize there must be a lot of strength within me if I've made it this far in its wake.
So for the last couple months--and I think my trip to the ER a few weeks ago was probably what pushed me over the edge here--I've been trying to start over, but I could use your help. I am getting on track to seek out work soon. I wrote and printed my résumé a couple weeks ago, but I'm relatively un-hireable, not many employers will see value in my credentials. I am, however, excited to say that I'm aiming to start on an MBA this fall.
Until then, though, I'm asking for the support of the global internet populace - it's becoming a struggle for me to leave the house and that ultimately spells out bad news for the mental health issues that continue to keep me into this position - I don't own a car, a bike, a coat, or a pair of shoes that won't soak my feet whenever it rains. Truth be told, yes, I feel like a real hack for doing this, but I feel its important now for me to make the choice to start taking care of myself and that includes me choosing to quit hiding in fear about it and find the courage to concede to you guys that I'm in a bit of trouble right now. Anything helps, but the choice is entirely yours. Thank you so much!
