Te puede gustar si te gusta: Rock Psycodelico a cascoporro,el disco hay algun tema que me recuerdan mucho a Spacemen 3 y los grupos que pario the Darkside, Slipstream… reverbs, voces en ecooo y indescifrables, Jim Morrison, ritmos repetitivos que te van atrapando poco a poco, LSD... y bueno lo típico del genero, tampoco inventan nada wooden shjips, pero la verdad que me ha sorprendido el disco, buen descubrimiento!!!, recomendado.

San Franciscan wierdos Wooden Shjips (trust me that is their real name and not a typo) are hugely influenced by the far-out, LSD induced experimentalism of psychedelia, with a small measure of prog rock excess thrown in for good luck. The lazy, hazy groove, fizzing, fuzzy guitars, pounding bass topped of with haunting half sung half spoken vocals is a blood relation of the glacial psych/garage rock of Crocodiles era Echo & The Bunnymen crossed with the sun-bleached tremolo-punk of Australia's The Scientistsand the nightmarish nursery rhyming of the solo Syd Barrett. There are hints of krautrock, the hammond organ haze of The Doors, Spacemen 3 style droning freak outs and the classic progressive psych of The Soft Machine.

aquí tenéis la presentación de frightened rabbit, novedad en fat cat. a mí me traen a la cabeza a okkervil river (por la manera de cantar), a no age (por la inmediatez) y a twilight sad (por la producción). ¿y eso cómo puede ser? pues es… pero no me hagáis mucho caso. tengo que escucharlos con calma.

Coño, me habia fiado de un link y no es correcto. Yo lo baje de la mula la semana pasada. Insisto es un disco de muchos kilates. Pude oir "Don't You Wish It Was True" y "Summer Of Love" en directo y ya me perecieron a un gran nivel.
Imperdonable que no haya visitado nuestros país, a ver si alguien se anima para el año que viene, seria una medallita para el PS y asegura un concierto de categoria…. :roll: :roll: :roll:

Much like the duo's first record, She Wants Revenge's sophomore set reflects the band's primary inspiration: movies. "We're both huge film buffs. We'd go through periods of listening exclusively to music soundtracks of films from the '70s and '80s, and a lot of noir," beatmaker and songwriter Adam Bravin tells Billboard.com. "We make pretty dark music, so it fits."

The dance-rock troupe returns Oct. 9 with "This Is Forever" (Geffen), a continuation of the group's murky musings on sex, death and relationships. The band's 2006's self-titled debut has sold 294,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Bravin, along with cohort and lead singer Justin Warfield, entered the studio in January to record the set, after an extensive tour with Bravin's "favorite band ever," Depeche Mode in late 2006 ("It was a dream come true," he says).

"This record contains a lot of hidden things, and a lot of touchstones in life that had a huge influence on us," Bravin says. "We based some of the visual aspects of our videos and some of the songs on things happening around us. Some movies, some people…"

One particular homage comes in the form of the music video for new track "Tear You Apart," the storyline for which originates from the opening scene of the 1983 horror/drama film "The Hunger" starring David Bowie. "The original [scene] had Bauhaus playing, so it's like we kind of replaced it and put a little twist of our own at the end," Bravin explains.

Bravin and Warfield will hit the road starting Oct. 5 in Los Angeles in support of "This Is Forever," finishing this first leg in mid-November. Bravin says he hopes to take a couple lessons from the Depeche Mode tour with him.

"First, you can be one of the biggest bands out there and [be] making relevant, impressive music … but it's still important to be the nice guys and keep your humility in check," he says. "Second, Depeche Mode have a way of writing and performing songs where, at some point, the crowd can rest and just take break. I think this album has some of that breathing room in it. I hope we give our fans that kind of rest, if only for, like, five seconds."
