Hoy me he enterado que el Transmission Festival, que debería haber tenido lugar en Austria la semana pasada fue finalmente cancelado debido a las bajas ventas. La cancelación tuvo lugar tan sólo 4 días antes del evento, lo cual no deja de chocar un poco. Una pena, porque no pintaba nada mal el festival (tanto en cartel como en entorno).

_Due to lower than expected presales and budgetary concerns, the organisors of Transmission Festival have made the decision to call off the event this year.

We are truly sorry to those of you who have bought tickets, as well as all those who were ready to buy tickets in the coming days. Our ticketing agency Ö-Ticket has confirmed that ticket holders will get 100% refund on their festival tickets and have advised that people contact the point of purchase directly in order to obtain this. Ö-Tickets online outlet is www.oeticket.com.

We are absolutely devastated to have to come to this decision and could not have foreseen that we would be in this position so close to the event. We had spent the guts of the past year planning this amazing festival, and have had enormous support from the media, agents, artists, and managers worldwide who have seen the quality in the event we had planned this year.

With lower than expected presales, not only are the financial burdens for the team incredibly high but we also as a result of the budgetary concerns, we feel the quality of the event would have been compromised. This was not a decision taken lightly and has involved much heartache from all of the volunteers who worked on this event over the past 12 months. Please know that in spite of financial and political difficulties, the team fought right until the bitter end to try and make it work, but unfortunately, it was just not enough to keep it going.

Our festival was created very much out of the pure love of music, and we will try to come back again in the future. All the bands, managers, agents, record companies, distributors and companies that we have been involved with all over the world have been extremely positive and encouraging and want to see us continue the festival in the future in spite of todays announcement. We thank them for their tremendous support at this time.

Once again we would like to offer our sincere apologies to you all and thank you so much for the support you have shown us in the past year.

Please please know that we did not go down without a fight.

Impresionante el concierto de Neil Young el sábado en Lisboa.
Puedo certificar que Coco vio el concierto de rodillas y llorando.
El Optimus Alive es un festival muy cómodo. Se llega muy facilmente desde el centro de Lisboa y la organización estuvo bastante correcta. Nada de colas y buenos accesos. Lo peor la programación, pero nosotros estábamos allí exclusivamente por Neil Young. Otro punto negativo fue el tener que compartir el espacio con fans de los Rage against the machine. Si alguien se ha de dejar rastas que al menos se asee.
