Antes de que este fin de semana me formateara el disco duro y todas las pelis y música que tenía se fueran a tomar p'ol culo… me pasé por última vez esto...

Tremenda interpretación de Ian Curtis en este recopilatorio de actuaciones en directo de Joy Division. No sé si es un gran directo, un pésimo directo, o simplemente TODO LO CONTRARIO. Abrumador.

Volviendo al Topic TEMAZOS, hay un par de temas de el primer disco de Famous Boyfriend (primer proyecto paralelo de Hood, allá por el '96) que cada cierto tiempo tengo que escucharlos como sea:

No esperaba menos de ti pumpkin :wink: No sé si Joy Division son la mejor banda de la historia (cómo se mide eso?). Tampoco me importa demasiado.

Cada x tiempo se rescata de la memoria una banda para encumbrarla. Creo que estamos en la época Joy Division. Como hace poco fueron PIXIES, y ya nadie hace tanta referencia a ellos hasta dentro de un tiempo.

Yo creo que a nivel lírico, Joy Division tiene una potencia inconmensurable. Defienden un sonido personal (Martin Hannet es la verdadera alma de los de Manchester) y supieron plasmar una etapa y contexto social muy determinado con mucha honestidad.

El tema del suicidio de Ian Curtis no me interesa tanto. Y menos después de que la épica se vaya al traste al saberse que la muerte la provocaron los efectos secundarios depresivos de las pastillas contra la epilepsia y no un arranque romántico a lo joven Werther de Goethe. Hay mucha agua en el vino con toda esta mística.

La mística de Joy Division la prefiero encontrar en esos paisajes desolados y asfixiantes que plantean Decades, por ejemplo. Está claro que no sólo puedes vivir de Joy Division, pero dudo que puedas prescindir de ellos para tener un fresco honrado de la historia de la música.

Entiendo los movimientos pendulares: ahora me apasiona...y luego revierte en una apatía directamente proporcional. Como todo, hay que saberselo administrar en las dosis apropiadas. Y más, un grupo como Joy Division.

A mi no me parecen sobrevalorados. Pero cada vez que se habla de ellos parece que se disuelva un quilate de su valía. Es lo que tiene la erosión del marketing.
