Efectivamente no los usan.
El concierto de Meshuggah en Londres fue un espectáculo, estos tíos son dioses.
Entendí a la perfección lo del math metal y aunque es difícil concebir un concierto de esta índole sentado allí estábamos en la negrura haciendo headbanging como tarados.

Le he dado un par de escuchas y todavía estoy aturdido. Rápidos, voz gutural y no se andan con contemplaciones. En el blog triple e dícen que es cybergrind, También he leido por ahí que és death metal experimental.

Llevo unos días recuperando sonidos Punk y Metal. Despolvando viejos discos y recuerdos. He llegado a este disco de los Celtic Frost una de mis bandas favoritas de metal de todos los tiempos. Hasta este disco que os invito a conocer. Ya que luego vino su etapa del Cold cake glamy trash que nunca me molo. Antes del disco que cuelgo debutaron con Morbid Tales y luego sacaron To Mega Therion. Para mi estos dos discazos asentaron parte de las bases del Death y el Black Metal.
Into the pandemonium me lo compre en cassete. Y lo escuche hasta la saciedad en su momento. Os dejo esta crítica que he encontrado muy acertada del disco que viene en el blog La cloaca.Celtic Frost (Che) - Into the Pandemonium (1987) [Remastered]
Into the Pandemonium es una obra que hasta hoy en día sigue siendo “vanguardista”, ya que esta obra mezcla el Black Metal, Thrash, la Electrónica, el Rock, Música clásica y otros estilos, logrando de una u otra manera ser un trabajo totalmente experimental.Con este álbum la banda se imponen como una banda de culto, pero, aun así Into pandemónium no estaba del todo preparado para aquellos días ya que es una obra que se adelanto a su tiempo y que en un punto del camino también perdió su agresividad de antaño, pero ojo con esto, esto no quiere decir que sea malo, al contrario es un disco bizarro, innovador, experimental y de vanguardia y porque no decirlo hasta Ecléctico, desde mi punto de vista. Así pues, Into de Pandemonium es un disco interesante pero que nunca fue comprendido y asimilado por los fans pero a pesar de eso gran parte del público y de la prensa coincidió en que el disco era una verdadera obra maestra. En resumen: Este trabajo de los Celtic Frost es un disco interesante e incomprendido pero que hoy en día a tomado el respeto que debió tener en el pasado.

Este video lo vi en su dia en VHS. Es el descojone. La peña se pasa todo el concierto subiendose al escenario y King Diamond aguantando el tipo. Hasta que en la ulitima cancion que es la que pongo sucede el mejor espontaneo de la HISTORIA DEL METAL y quizas del Rock. Por cierto si les gusta el Metal, supongo que les gustara los dos discazos Melissa y Dont break the Oath de los Mercyful Fate.

The heartbeat of any modern metropolis, its anger, aggression and urgency echo through "Entrench". With full-length number five, KEN mode honour their noisier roots delving deep into fertile metallic Post-Hardcore severity, while offering their most creative and sonically diverse album yet. KEN mode was formed in 1999 by Canadian Royal Conservatory of Music trained musicians Jesse Matthewson and brother Shane Matthewson who were then joined by Darryl Laxdal on bass. Their band name was based on a quote of Henry Rollins and the acronym stands for "Kill Everyone Now". After releasing several demos during the next four years, their debut album "Mongrel" (2003) created a strong buzz that opened doors for touring and shows with THE END, MASTODON, BURNT BY THE SUN, PELICAN and THE DREAM IS DEAD among others. Follow-up "Reprisal" (2006) confirmed KEN mode as a new powerhouse of their genre. Laxdal parted ways with the band and was first replaced by Drew Johnston (ELECTRO QUARTERSTAFF) and later Jahmeel Russell (HIDE YOUR DAUGHTERS), who recorded third album "Mennonite" (2008) with them. This release saw the band embark on a European tour with Welsh rockers TAINT, for which Chad Tremblay had meanwhile taken over bass duties. KEN mode's next album "Venerable" (2011) was produced by Kurt Ballou of Converge and the trio hit the road again with GAZA, BURIED INSIDE and later A LIFE ONCE LOST among others as well as returning to Europe with then label-mates KYLESA and CIRCLE TAKES THE SQUARE. Critical acclaim had gained a level that witnessed "Venerable" winning the inaugural Heavy Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year Juno Award in Canada and a nomination for Rock Album of the Year by the Western Canadian Music Awards. KEN mode were ready for the next big step in their career and recorded and mixed "Entrench" with Matt Bayles (MASTODON, ISIS, BOTCH). While every bit as sonically vitriolic as their past endeavors, Painted attempts to focus its energy rather than lash out blindly. Songs like “Greenland” and “It’s The Water” still weigh in with bottom-heavy instrumentation, but lyrically look towards brighter horizons. Though the band seeks to close the emotional divide it basked in on their debut, the primary meaning behind New Distances couldn’t be more pertinent to the band’s sophomore album. The U.S. Department of Immigration recently denied entry to Cox, forcing the recruitment of temporary guitarist Mark Holcomb (Aeges, Undertow, Shift) for Narrow’s 2011 tour with Helms Alee. While the global nature of the band already limited their opportunities for touring, this additional roadblock further exacerbated the difficulties of writing and recording an album with members spread across the United Stated and Europe.
Despite the difficulties of recording across two hemispheres, Painted sounds like a band locked into a singular vision. Matt Bayles (Mastodon, ISIS, Minus The Bear) recorded the album at Red Room Studios with Cox’s guitar overdubs tracked by Wayne Pennell at Bunker Studios in Brentford, England during late night Skype sessions with the stateside members of the band. Due in part to the constraints of time and distance, Painted is a streamlined record. With eight songs clocking in at just over 27 minutes, the album wastes no time exorcising its demons. And while part of New Distances’ allure stemmed from it’s marriage of primal metallic hardcore with the effects-laden art rock approach of guitarists Cox and Frederiksen, Painted harnesses power from curtailing more of their experimental moments in favor of big meaty riffs and voracious tempos.

30", como ves lo de anyadir hardcore al tema del hilo? al fin y al cabo, muchas de las bandas mas interesantes del genero en los ultimos veinte anyos navegan abiertamente entre ambos estilos. igual asi conseguiriamos reflotar un poco el asunto, que al final uno se cansa de tanto pop. pero vaya, como tu veas. sin presiones de ningun tipo.

Siempre le echo un ojo, pero claro, uno entra aquí para encontrar tachas, sudor y cuero, y me encuentro música para niños finos con tattoos y dilataciones…
Es broma, que Zozobra molan.De este año las poquitas novedades que he escuchado me han gustado bastante (a excepción de Ghost), a ver si seguimos con la racha. Este de Immanolation lo has escuchado? Qué tal?

jaja, no era mi intencion animar a nadie a que se perfore las partes.
el de immolation te molara si te molaban los anteriores. no es un grupo que vaya a innovar ahora ni vaya a defraudar a las primeras de cambio. pero bueno, que tampoco es que sea megafan. posiblemente no escuchaba algo suyo desde que iba a primero de bup.
que otras novedades recomiendas?

Te diría que hatebreed, kvelertak y volbeat tb tienen discos nuevos con bastante donde rascar.

El de Kvelertak me ha decepcionado un poco, pero es que el primero es insuperabla, y vaya jodido directo!
Lo mismo con Hatebreed, aunque se necesiten 5 litros de Gatorade para escucharlos, jodidos animales.Ganísimas del de Dillinger.

Dillinger son buenos indeed, pero a mí que generalmente no me gustan ni los –cores ni los posts- ni nada que se le parezca, nunca me han entrado, por más que lo intento; ni habiéndolos visto en directo en un par de ocasiones (pero no les quito el mérito, son unas bestias pardas), así que no puedo decir nada de sus trabajos. Y en la misma línea, ni Hatebreed ni Volbeat me han interesado mucho. El nuevo de Kvelertak me pareció una castaña pilonga, eso sí.

Así que se me ocurran de este año, me han gustado especialmente el nuevo de Enforcer, heavy metal hecho por unos suecos jovencísimos con guiños a los Maiden de los inicios (sin los riffs “galopantes”) y voces que se cargarían la vajilla de mi abuela (lástima que el chaval en directo no llega tanto… ). Es el tercer disco que se marcan y está a la altura, si te gusta el heavy metal más clásico, claro. El retorno de Dream Death ha sido bastante digno, aunque me falta la pesadez celticfrostiana de antaño. Pero ninguna queja (salvo la horrible portada). El de Ghost se me atraganta, pero todos mis amigos y conocidos están que no cagan, así que quizá lo debería recomendar igualmente. Pendientes tengo todavía muchos (My Dying Bride, Kongh, Manilla Road, etc) pero no creo que esto tire mucho por aquí, si acaso el de Kongh.
Y luego descubrimientos y lanzamientos de death metal que hacen más-de-lo-mismo pero que me pondrían el miembro como el cuello de un cantaor porque soy asín y a la que me meten un riff entombediano ya se me caen las bragas al suelo.Y ya en terrenos menos “metal” (o nada metal, realmente), pero con guitarreos afines; el nuevo de Uncle Acid gana con las escuchas; el de Wolf People me parece una maravilla; el de Kadavar también está increíble. Me sorprende que no haya llegado el hype a estos lares, de hecho.

Buenísimos los tres, no así el de Blood Ceremony, otros que navegan por las mismas aguas pero a mi no me acaban de entrar, ni el nuevo disco ni el anterior. Y comparto tu opinión sobre el de Ghost, me parecen una broma de mal gusto.
Como aportaciones particulares dejo un par de discos:
Survival - Survival (2013)
El niño guapo de Liturgy Hunter Hunt-Hendrix se pasa al [post-hardcore, math rock, o como queráis llamarlo] de la mano de Thrill Jockey y el resultado es bastante bueno, a mi me ha entrado muchísimo mejor que el Aesthethica de Liturgy, al menos (lo cuál no era muy difícil). El disco está en spotify, pero no lo he encontrado en descarga.
Uneven Structure - 8 EP (2013)
Este lo he escuchado hace un rato y es lo que me ha animado a buscar este hilo. Hacen djent según rym, que es un género de cuya existencia me acabo de enterar y que yo llamaría sludge metal progresivo, si es que eso ayuda a dar una mejor idea. Por lo que he leído este EP es una reedición de otro que publicaron en 2009 y que venía a ser un plagio de Meshuggah, esta última versión adaptada a su sonido actual. Tienen un disco de 2011, Februus, al que ponen bastante bien, yo por si acaso ya lo estoy bajando. Si os queréis bajar el EP, lo tenéis en Newalbumreleases.
