L"Escala (Girona) inaugura la primera playa sin humos de España
16:30:56 - 13/04/2006Vocento VMT -El alcalde de L"Escala, Josep Maria Guinart, celebró y se mostró "esperanzado" en el cumplimiento de la iniciativa, que se inspira en la propuesta de CiU en el Congreso de que las playas puedan acotar zonas donde no se pueda fumar.
La localidad de L"Escala (Girona) inaugurará a primera hora de esta tarde la primera playa sin humos del Estado español, en la que se delimitará una zona donde no se permitirá fumar, a pesar de que la actual normativa impide sancionar a quien fume al aire libre.
En concreto, la iniciativa se aplicará en la Platja Nova de L"Escala, frente a Sant Martí d"Empúries, lo que supone un 4% de la superficie litoral de la localidad, según Guinart.
El alcalde, también diputado de CiU, apuntó la voluntad de su Consistorio de "especializar playas" con el objetivo de "diversificar la oferta" y dar "alternativas" a los bañistas a través de playas dirigidas a "familias, jóvenes y deportistas de vela y voleibol", añadió.
Guinart destacó que con esta acción "no sólo se evitará el humo, sino efectos colaterales como las colillas en la arena y los filtros en el agua", sostuvo el alcalde, quien puso de manifiesto que "se eliminarán los perjuicios" que supone el fumar para las familias.
Además, se mostró convencido de que la indicación "se respetará" y de que "habrá convivencia". "No podemos expulsar a las personas que fumen", indicó, al tiempo que apostó por buscar "fórmulas jurídicas o legales", en caso de que se incumpla la indicación.
En la playa, que tiene dos accesos, se colocarán carteles que sobre un fondo azul, burbujas y una anchoa mostrarán una señal de prohibido fumar al estilo de "prohibido el paso", explicó Guinart, que destacó que "la finalidad es tener las playas limpias" y "mejor".

Jajajaja llevo rato buscando mis apuntes de cuando hice la carrera de Turismo para explicar otros ejemplos pero no los encuentro. Había casos de turismo q no tienen desperdicio. -

America tired of Tom Cruise?
The charged-up, couch-hopping star made headlines, but didn't draw much of a crowd for a hyped ABC News interview addressing rumors about his then pending child with fiancee Katie Holmes.
The Primetime special, airing last Friday, placed an unspectacular 48th in the latest Nielsen Media Research rankings.
Numbers-wise, 7 million watched Diane Sawyer's sit-down with Cruise, an actor who is regarded as the biggest movie star in the world. By comparison, 7.3 million tuned into ABC last month to see Barbara Walters chat up Macaulay Culkin, an actor who is regarded as being a good 12 years past his hit-making prime.
In the Sawyer interview, Cruise denied Holmes had been fitted with a pacifier in order to ensure the so-called "silent birth" preferred by Scientologists.
Cruise, 43, and Holmes, 27, welcomed their first child together on Tuesday. Next up, Cruise will await the May 5 arrival of Mission: Impossible 3. Presumably, he hopes America has rested up for him by the time launches the media blitz for that film.
Elsewhere in the TV week ended Sunday:
Twenty commandments were enough for ABC, which got solid performances out of its all-new Ten Commandments miniseries (14th place, 13.9 million–for the first part; 22nd place, 12 million--for the second part) and its umpteenth replay of the 1956 Charlton Heston movie (32nd place, 8.9 million).
Is the lack of suspense killing American Idol? Something sure put a damper on turnout for Wednesday's results show, down to a season-low 22.6 million viewers (third place). The episode's start time--8:30 p.m., instead of the usual 9 p.m.--also might have been a factor.
The music of Queen, meanwhile, helped reverse a slight slump for Idol's Tuesday competition episode, up to 29.6 million viewers (first place).
Julia Louis-Dreyfus' The New Adventures of Old Christine (26th place, 11.4 million) is looking a tad cursed, albeit the CBS sitcom didn't get much lead-in help from a so-so outing by Two and a Half Men (13th place, 14.1 million).
Conventional wisdom says Commander in Chief is going to get axed next month. The ratings say the show, dumped by ABC onto Thursday nights, did all right in its return (37th place, 8.2 million), and improved on the performance of its time-slot predecessor, Primetime, which averaged 7.3 million viewers in the 10 p.m. hour.
That Brian guy is going to be really bummed when he finds out the Sunday premiere of What About Brian? (20th place, 12.5 million) lost more than one-third of the Desperate Housewives (fifth place, 20 million) audience for ABC.
And under no circumstances should Brian be informed that Brian? did even worse, much worse, in its Monday time-slot debut. Only an estimated 7.1 million shared its title character's angst, Variety reported.
Bravo's The Real Housewives of Orange County is making buzz; Fox's The O.C. (86th place, 4.3 million) is buzzed out.
Now that's versatile: House is a hit on network TV (fourth place, 21.2 million) and cable (3.1 million viewers for a Friday night repeat on USA).On the network front, CBS and Fox claimed their usual victories: CBS was the most-watched network, averaging 11.4 million viewers; Fox was the most-desired network by 18-to-49-year-old viewers.
By the power of Moses, both of them, ABC claimed a pair of second-place finishes in total viewers (9.7 million) and the 18-to-49 demo. CBS fell to third in the demo; Fox fell to third in total viewers (9.6 million).
NBC, which averaged 8 million viewers, had fourth place all to itself in both categories.
